The Enterprise Information Systems International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of EIS (CONFENIS) is a primary international event of the IFIP TC8 Working Group 8.9.. This program provides an opportunity for academicians and practitioners throughout the world to gather, exchange ideas, and present original research in the field of enterprise information systems. Scientists and professionals are invited to address the current research topics in the area or the research frontier at this unique international forum. The CONFENIS 2009 Conference is sponsored mainly by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), IFIP TC8, and IFIP TC8 WG8.9 on Enterprise Information Systems, hosted by the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) and locally organized by and the Community of Scientific and Educational Forum on Business Information Systems (SEFBIS) and the Szechenyi Istvan University (SZE).

Call for Paper

The IPC invites authors to submit their original and unpublished works, analogy-based thinking hypothesis, innovations, experience-based reflections and ideas, specific problems requiring solutions, case studies, position papers etc. in the potential fields listed below. The IPC announces participants to apply for short and long papers, reckons with about 100 papers from all over the world, and the IPC invites also 2-4 speakers (internationally known and acknowledged scientists, experts) for the plenary session. The types of the conference papers: EP: expert panel within a clearly defined field, topic covering different perspectives or points of view; FP: full paper, 6-10 pages, presentation: 25 min; SP: short paper, 3-5 pages, presentation 15 min; PO: poster 2-3 pages. The themes and topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • enterprise information systems' analysis, design, implementation and testing

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

  • EIS and e-logistics, global e-supply chain management, supplier relationship management (SRM), customer relationship management (CRM)

  • business process and workflow modeling, analysis, integration, monitoring, and management

  • enterprise modeling and integration, enterprise engineering

  • eEnterprise concepts for specific domains such as electronic and mobile commerce, and/or vertical domains such as production, services, finance, telecommunication, education, agriculture, transportation, healthcare, administration, government  etc.

  • impacts in a variety of industrial sectors including manufacturing, service, healthcare, and government

  • human-computer interfaces related to the ERPs

  • enterprise architecture design and modeling; concepts and standards: modeling language (UML), model-driven architecture (MDA), component-oriented architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA)

  • integration of (legacy) enterprise applications and information, integrated systems, integrated manufacturing systems

  • inter-enterprise collaboration and virtual enterprises

  • technologies for collaborative enterprise computing: middleware standards and systems, such as CORBA and J2EE, modeling and description languages, such as XML, RDF, OWL

  • business intelligence, ontology, knowledge management in enterprise information systems

  • research results in the field of enterprise information systems and systems engineering

  • trust, security, and privacy issues in enterprise computing

  • quality assurance issues in enterprise computing

  • evolution and management of enterprise computing systems

  • future generation enterprise information systems

  • applications, case studies, management issues

Proceedings, Editors

The Organizing Committee will publish the Proceedings on CD, and if there will be demand enough for the printed version then the OC manages the publishing at the Springer for extra charge of the proceedings book (the Organizing Committee does not want to over raise the conference participation fee with the high cost of the proceedings published in paper form (proceedings book). The papers will be published in the IFIP Digital Library, and the extended reviewed version of the overall best papers will be published in a special edition of SEFBIS Journal (Journal of the Scientific and Educational Forum on Business Information Systems; Editor: Palatia Publishing) or in the journal entitled Enterprise Information Systems (Editor: Taylor and Francis).

 

Awards

The papers and presentations will be reviewed at least two reviewers and the best ones will be awarded by the CONFENIS Award and by the SEFBIS Award. The works of PhD students and the young scientists (max 35 Years of age) will be evaluated in a separated group, and they can get the special PhD Award.

Conference Venue

The CONFENIS 2009 Conference will take place at the Famulus Hotel**** and Conference Centre Complex, that is located at the Eastern part of the city Gyor, opposite to the newly built Arkad shopping center, and only 5-10 minutes walk from the historical downtown. See the Conference Venue website. At the Hotel Famulus there are rooms available on different service levels and prices (the OC has made already a prebooking for the conference participants), but the city Gyor offers numerous other hotels located in the downtown and also in other districts of Gyor. We propose to visit the  Hotels' website in Gyor, or the on-line booking possibilities.
